As graduated students we were asked to utilize the new installments of LinksNYC to help communities located in food deserts receive healthy produce. By proposing partnering with City Harvest we envisioned LinkNYC being an important element for locating healthy food that would otherwise be thrown away by restaurants throughout NYC.

Problem
How can LinkNYC help food rescue organizations reach more people within food deserts and continue to prevent food waste?
Process
In order to achieve our goal of eliminating food waste and aiding neighborhoods located in food deserts, we came up with this workflow. This infograph shows how we envision organizations working together to retrieve, package, and deliver fresh produce to neighborhoods with the help of LinkNYC.
